Brazil, Sao Paulo: 5* Marriot Renaissance Hotel

This was the first of our visits at a Marriot establishment.  Situated in Alameda Santos, Sao Paulo - the Renaissance hotel is a 5-star establishment boasts being one of the most luxurious hotels in the area with a great location, with first class rated service and amenities.  It is indeed true that their confident statement mirrors what you can expect when staying at this establishment.

Upon entering the hotel, you immediately notice the impressive architecture and stylish decor of the hotel.    With a few dining options onsite such as the Living Lounge Bar & Sushi (which serves the most amazing sushi), Havanna Bar (perfect for relaxing with a cocktail), Bytes Cafe (sandwich bar) and Terraco Jardins (perfect for business lunches or meetings), were rather convenient for the tired traveller checking in after a long haul flight.  The hotel is also in close proximity to a few restaurants such as the Figueira Rubayat which we blogged about earlier.  In case you have not read the post yet, Figueira Rubayat (built around a 130 year old fig tree) is a must for an outstanding meaty dinner.

Our suite at the Marriot Renaissance was absolutely spacious with many luxury amenities.  Needless to say, our bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept on during our travels.  We were quite pleased with the cleanliness and ample space.  Equipped with a tea and coffee facility, our suite also had hot chocolate as a beverage option in addition to a well stocked mini bar.  Our suite included a work desk, internet connection and telephone which suited our business needs as it was rather easy to connect our laptops to download and respond to client mails.  The establishment features a well equipped gym as well as a beautiful pool to enjoy during the hotter Summer days.  We were told of a spa, sauna and hot tub facilities during check in but alas, we had not had the opportunity to utilise either due to time constraints.

Breakfast was fantastic with a huge option of various dishes.  We were quite pleased with the selection on offer.  Located near a subway station and walking distance from Oscar Freire area, the hotel is also conveniently located a block away from Avenida Paulista.

When staying at this hotel, try the caipirinhas which are served in the lounge.  They are quite possibly the best in the area.

The Marriot Renaissance hotel is a great choice for both professional business travellers like ourselves or family visits, should you wish to explore the area and have the convenience of top notch service inclusive of various dining options.

It has proven to be our favorite hotel thus far when visiting Sao Paulo.
